BUSY TIMES
|
If you enjoy crowds and like excitement, then
plan to visit during national or religious holidays.
Always pre-book accommodations for holiday times, as hotels
book up very early. This will not be a budget holiday as
hotel prices rise dramatically during these busy times.
The busiest times are the two weeks before Christmas to a week
after new years, the week of Semanta Santa (Easter spring
break), and Carnival week (early February). St.
Patrick's day (March 17th) is also a very busy Mexican
holiday. The
prime high season (high cost) is from December 15th till after
Easter. The annual Mexican school vacation period of July and
August is also considered high season, although not too many
Canadians travel to Costa Alegre in summer. |
QUIET TIMES
|
Most
people who come to Costa Alegre are looking for a quiet, laid
back holiday, so usually arrive after the crowds leave or
before they arrive. All of November and the first two
weeks of December are quieter, as well as the last three weeks
in January till the end of March (before Carnival). After Carnival
it is quiet again until Semanta Santa (holy week, Easter) at
the end of March. It is very quiet after Easter.
Hotels seldom close for the low season, but restaurants do. If
you go in October or November or after Easter you will have
fewer choices of where to eat. |
The main tourist season is from November to April,
but many travelers visit year round.
