Amarillo Crocodiles

Caimans
can be seen close up in the "Estero de la Manzanilla" lagoon on
the north edge of town.
The last crocodile count in the La Manzanilla
mangrove swamp was 127 healthy specimens. The largest
measure up to 16ft. long. The
yellow crocodile preservation society "SCSI Cipactli" is striving
to increase the population of wild crocodiles in the Costalegre.
The SCSI organization is the "Sociedad Cooperativa de Servicios

La Fiestas Taurinas La Manzanilla started
this year on
Thursday February 3rd. 2005 and
ended on the towns Anniversary Sunday Feb 6th.
Gringo Day
celebrations were scheduled on Friday afternoon and ran until
evening. Many came out to support this annual event.
Entrance fee was only $150 pesos which is used to help the locals. |
